POSITION OVERVIEW
- The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague serves as a registered nurse who collaborates as an integral member of the healthcare team, consistently upholding safe practices within the professional framework of the organization.
- This role requires the Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague to possess the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to meet the standards for proficient nursing practice as outlined in the position description addendum.
- Independently, the Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague delivers patient care through the nursing process and is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients, who may vary in age from infants to the elderly.
- Collaboration with the interprofessional healthcare team is key to facilitating coordinated care across the continuum. The nurse is dedicated to enhancing their knowledge and skills to deliver personalized care that considers the physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-related needs of assigned patients.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): The nurse employs data and quality improvement methodologies to identify and address potential and actual issues, ensuring care is safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: The nurse assesses and integrates the best available evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences to optimize healthcare delivery and system effectiveness.
- Professionalism: The nurse commits to the nursing profession through ongoing education, adherence to the ANA's Code of Ethics for Nurses, involvement in professional organizations, and community engagement.
- Safety: The nurse strives to minimize risks to patients, families, providers, and themselves through effective systems and individual performance.
- Teamwork: The nurse actively participates in cooperation, coordination, and collaboration to ensure safe, quality outcomes for patients within interprofessional teams, including virtual settings.
- Adheres to the values, policies, and procedures of Good Shepherd Rehab while performing duties.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support the unit, department, and overall health system.
