Job Summary

Piedmont Medical Care Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at our outpatient clinic locations. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or RN in accordance with established guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet patients, obtain patient information and medical history, and accurately document patient medical and physical histories in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Record vital signs, perform EKG, spirometry, and other office procedures, and assist licensed staff during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Perform lab duties, including phlebotomy, order entry, specimen collection, and labeling for delivery to the appropriate authority for testing.
  • Distribute educational information and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments under the supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Coordinate telephone and in-basket requests to refill prescription medications and report test results in accordance with provider instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Practice Standard Precautions, including handwashing and disposal of bio-hazardous materials, and comply with established risk management, HIPAA, and safety procedures.
  • Attend required meetings, in-services, and participate in committees as required.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including procedure scheduling and completion of medical and physical history forms.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization is required.
