Taziki's Cafe is seeking a skilled Culinary Artist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing fresh food items daily and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality food items daily, adhering to our menu and product knowledge standards.
- Station Setup and Stocking: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
- Menu and Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our menu and products, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- Order Management: Manage orders efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food to our customers.
- Catering and Special Requests: Prepare catering orders and special requests, adhering to our quality and presentation standards.
- Food Handling and Storage: Properly handle and store food products, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Hygiene and Uniform: Maintain proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance, adhering to our health department standards.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain kitchen, dish, and prep areas, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Shift-Side Work: Perform shift-side work, including opening and closing duties, to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience: Experienced preferred but not required - we will train you.
- Knife Skills: Proper knife skills are essential for this role.
- Equipment Operation: Ability to operate all necessary kitchen equipment.
- Communication: Good communication skills are necessary for effective teamwork and customer service.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team as necessary.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic with passion and urgency is required.
- Reliability: Dependable and reliable, with a professional attitude and respect for coworkers, the establishment, and the brand.
A typical work day at Taziki's Cafe may include morning shifts from 8am to 4pm, evening shifts from 4pm to 10pm, weekends, and holidays. Hours will vary by store.
You'll work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment, which includes using equipment such as a flattop and char grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor.
Physical Requirements- Prolonged Standing: Prolonged standing is required for this role.
- Bending and Stooping: Bending and stooping are necessary for tasks such as cleaning and stocking.
- Twisting: Twisting is required for tasks such as food preparation and serving.
- Lifting and Carrying: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds is required for tasks such as food preparation and cleaning.
