About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Biomedical Scientist to join our team at CEDARS-SINAI, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and advancing medical research.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge proteomic workflows, working closely with our team of experts to translate insights into biomarker hypotheses that can be verified in large cohort studies.

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic ecosystem that leverages disruptive innovation from internal academic research labs and the clinical healthcare infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize state-of-the-art proteomic workflows for protein analysis, including post-translational modifications (PTMs).
  • Collaborate with our team to design and implement novel, high-performance quantitative mass spectrometry workflows for proteins.
  • Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrumentation, quality control, and standardization for proteomics workflows.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in mass spectrometry analysis software, including vendor-specific and open-source tools.
  • Contribute to the development of new assays and biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases and preventive health.
  • Collaborate with our team to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or a related science/engineering field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in mass spectrometry-driven proteomics, with a focus on human health applications.
  • Experience with laboratory automation and coding skills (R, Python) for data analysis.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of protein biochemistry and practical knowledge of bottom-up proteomics.
  • Hands-on experience with Thermo and Sciex mass spectrometry platforms.
