Construction Project Advisor

Job Overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Construction Project Advisor at SOCOTEC. The Construction Project Advisor will oversee, manage, and direct the construction activities and field operations to ensure timely restaurant openings that provide economic benefits to our franchise partners. This role requires expertise in construction methodologies, industry standards, regulatory compliance, site evaluations, and the interpretation of contractual agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Evaluations
- Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate adherence to design specifications, contractor performance, and the overall integrity of the construction process. Identify issues within the construction workflow and propose effective solutions for areas not meeting performance benchmarks.
- Facilitate conflict resolution during the construction phase, ensuring effective communication among franchisees, general contractors, operations teams, and management.
Advisory Services
- Interpret construction contracts for diverse site applications, geographical considerations, design regulations, and material usage. Provide guidance to franchisees, architects, contractors, and municipal authorities regarding project development.
- Review and assess prototype construction plans for accuracy in detailing, measurements, annotations, and adherence to specifications.
- Mentor architectural technicians to enhance their understanding of the construction process and the contractor's interpretation of design documents.
- Advise franchisees on overall construction management, equipment procurement, and navigating the change order process, payment applications, lien waivers, and project closure documentation.
Project Documentation
- Ensure meticulous project documentation that informs future development strategies and cost-saving measures for other departments and prototype plans.
- Systematically track and document the construction timeline and milestones using established reporting protocols.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in construction project management or as a site superintendent is required.
- Experience within a franchisor environment, preferably in the quick-service restaurant sector.
Skills:
- Proficient negotiation skills.
- Exceptional follow-through capabilities to ensure the successful completion of assigned construction projects and resolution of outstanding issues. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey design concepts to diverse audiences.

Work Environment:
Most positions based at our headquarters will operate on a hybrid schedule, requiring two days of collaboration in the office each week. Additional in-office time may be necessary to meet team or project needs.
