ICF is looking for a seasoned Senior Environmental Project Manager with a background in consulting to join our expanding energy division. The successful candidate will possess expertise in power generation, electrical transmission, and renewable energy initiatives, along with a strong understanding of guiding projects through adherence to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related regulations.
Our team assists clients in achieving NEPA compliance through the development or evaluation of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Categorical Exclusions (CatExs) for projects across the nation. This role will focus on supporting clients' NEPA compliance for energy-related projects, including renewable energy, advanced energy technologies related to vehicle initiatives, CO2 pipelines, and transmission systems.

Leading NEPA project reviews:
- Assessing environmental components of applications to ensure sufficient information is available to initiate and conduct the NEPA process.
- Collaborating with applicants and agency personnel to provide guidance on NEPA compliance.
- Assisting agency staff in managing the preparation of CatExs, EAs, and EISs (typically developed by the applicant's contractor).
- Evaluating NEPA documents prepared by the applicant's contractor for adequacy and completeness.
- Acting as the project manager for NEPA documents on behalf of the client agency.
- Leading consultation efforts and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
- Serving as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams.
- Coordinating project deliverables with document production teams.
- Monitoring project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Organizing and facilitating meetings (including preparing agendas, developing and presenting meeting content, and summarizing discussions).
- Communicating effectively with clients, applicants, stakeholders, and agency personnel.
- Bachelor's Degree in natural or physical sciences, public policy, economics, environmental management, or related fields.
- 12+ years of professional experience in preparing and/or reviewing documents in compliance with NEPA and associated regulations.
- Experience in project management.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Experience in client interfacing and working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Background in energy projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Effective problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to tackle new and challenging tasks.
- Setting ambitious, measurable, and sustainable goals in collaboration with management.
- Identifying and addressing client needs within established guidelines.
- Collaborating with project teams and clients to achieve defined objectives.

Pay Range - Multiple factors are considered in determining final compensation for a position, including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specified role, geographic location, education, and certifications.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$102,000 - $173,884.00
