Photonics Technical Support Specialist

HyperLight, a venture-backed startup spun off from Harvard University in 2018, is seeking a Customer Support Engineer. As a key member of our growing team, you will be responsible for supporting our expanding customer base, handling customer inquiries, and providing technical support during pre- and post-sales activities. We are looking for an individual who can excel in this role and contribute to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Understand customer technical needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Act as a dedicated customer point of contact, ensuring timely and accurate responses to their queries.
- Maintain and organize detailed specifications sheets for Hyperlight products.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product design based on customer feedback.
Requirements:
We require a bachelor's or master's degree in physics, optics, engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in customer support or technical support roles. Additionally, they must possess a strong understanding of electro-optical modulator technology, photonics, optics, lasers, fiber, polarization, and more. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as well as organizational and planning skills. The ability to solve problems in new and/or ambiguous scenarios is also crucial.
