About the Role:

SilicaRise is seeking a highly skilled ML Hardware Architect to contribute to the development of innovative silicon products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance ML hardware solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of architectural innovations for ML silicon products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the constraints and trade-offs of ML hardware design.
  • Develop and maintain qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies for power, performance, and cost of prospective silicon products.
  • Collaborate with system and ML application software engineers to optimize across the hardware/software boundary.

Requirements:

  • MS or PhD degree in Computer Architecture or equivalent years of experience.
  • Deep understanding of processor microarchitecture.
  • Experience with SystemC, Python, C/C++, and performance simulation frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with deep learning models, particularly transformer architectures and their workload characteristics.
  • Knowledge of the RISC-V instruction set architecture.
  • Proven track record of silicon tape-outs with in-house processor core designs or in-house accelerator designs in industry or academia.
  • Knowledge of ML trends and experience in outreach to ML researchers and application developers.
