We are currently in search of a Senior Project Manager. In collaboration with the Senior Project Architect and Senior Project Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing project financial performance and facilitating team communication. You will manage multiple projects through all phases until completion, directing team members and consultants at all levels to ensure adherence to established procedures and that work is executed as planned, within budget, on schedule, and in alignment with design intent.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Cultivates and sustains a collaborative professional relationship with the Project Leadership Team. Participates in and/or leads various project teams as the Senior Project Manager. Aids senior management in defining and validating project scope, fees, budgets, and service scope during the marketing and contract development phases. Assists in the preparation of project presentations and may lead client presentations. Ensures timely and comprehensive communication of project information to clients and the project team. Responsible for managing projects using the Deltek Project Management system; completing work plans in Deltek, including identification of project team members, budget, consultants, completion schedules, fees, costs, and project change notices or other actions relevant to the assigned project. Supports senior management in the drafting and execution of consultant contracts. Aids in negotiating fees and contracts. Guarantees that budgets are structured to accommodate a Quality Management Program throughout the project's lifecycle. Integrates Sustainable Design solutions into projects. Takes personal accountability for promoting a sustainable workplace through eco-friendly practices. Encourages a culture of exceptional client service, both internally and externally.

Management Duties:

Collaborates with the Project Architect to prevent or resolve scheduling conflicts arising from changes in various projects. Plans, organizes, and oversees project management. Provides ongoing communication through team meetings, minutes, and update memos to the project team. Engages with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines to ensure effective communication. Monitors construction administration during the construction phase. Develops and maintains positive relationships with consultants and clients.

Client Engagement:

Responsible for nurturing client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Keeps clients informed of project progress regularly. Initiates and maintains contact with key project individuals for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of critical issues. Consults with clients to ascertain functional and spatial requirements, preparing information regarding design, specifications, materials, colors, equipment, estimated costs, and construction timelines. Plans project layouts and integrates engineering elements into a cohesive design for client review and approval.

Business Development:

Engages in the development of the annual business plan for the Regional Practice. Identifies new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships. Actively seeks out potential projects that may be in development. Participates in selected marketing and business development initiatives. Assists in the formulation of fee proposals for marketing purposes.

Staff Development:

Provides leadership through professional development coaching and mentoring of staff. Defines staffing needs for projects as required or directed. Makes recommendations to senior management regarding staff promotions or terminations for project teams and the Architecture discipline. May participate in the recruitment and interviewing of professional staff.

Required Skills:

Ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment. Flexibility in multitasking and adjusting assignments is essential. Proven and effective communication and leadership skills. Strong understanding of design trends, construction methodologies, material applications, and supplier appropriateness. Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems. In-depth knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines. Comprehensive understanding of buildingSMART, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP). Capability to manage multiple complex projects. Proficient hand and CAD drafting skills. Preferred proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop. Preferred proficiency in Primavera or MS Project. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006. Proficient in graphic software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign. Preferred proficiency in Deltek Vision. Required proficiency in Revit as expected of Project Leaders. Preferred proficiency in NewForma. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team setting. Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent education or experience is required. A Master's degree is preferred. 10 years of experience in architectural practice with prior management experience across all project phases through post-occupancy. Licensed Architect with current registration in your region is preferred, where applicable. NCARB registration is preferred. LEED AP or GA certification is required within 6 months of employment.
