Job Overview

Under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Technology Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the materials management functions associated with technology initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, the planning, procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of a diverse range of telecommunications and information technology supplies and equipment across various warehouse and storeroom locations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate staff involved in maintaining inventory records, assessing material needs, and preparing purchase requisitions and delivery orders.
  2. Collaborate with section or division managers to discuss material support operations and adjust inventory levels as necessary.
  3. Engage with departmental users and vendor representatives to address service quality, product durability, and purchasing feasibility.
  4. Participate in product evaluation and may draft specifications for items or services.
  5. Analyze inventory levels and reorder points, advising management on significant trends and recommending adjustments as needed.
  6. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies in line with purchasing and storeroom regulations.
  7. Oversee the selection and evaluation of subordinate personnel, including performance documentation and training needs assessment.

Project Focus

The incumbent will lead the installation and enhancement of an asset management system and workflows, particularly utilizing ServiceNow or similar software tools. This role encompasses the upgrade of systems for tracking and managing technology assets, including servers, desktops, laptops, telephones, and other equipment.

Nature of Employment

This position is a Permanent Exempt - Full Time role, exempt from the competitive civil service examination process. The role requires a commitment to a 40-hour work week, with potential travel within the city.

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, public administration, economics, industrial engineering, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of three years of verifiable experience in technical support operations and management of a computerized inventory management system, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills:

  • Supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of voice and data network components.
  • Experience with asset management systems, particularly ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in inventory control and ITIL Asset Management.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with large data sets.
