Job Summary:

Anderson Dahlen is seeking a skilled Materials Coordinator to oversee the planning and coordination of the company's inventory and purchasing departments. This role is responsible for managing the overall shipping and receiving functions, as well as strategic sourcing activities, including competitive vendor assessments and managing supplier agreements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify purchasing needs and recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity.
  • Record and assess all materials quality, movement, and expenditures, and manage the distribution of supplies in the organization.
  • Monitor inventory levels and access to the material, and collaborate with management to plan forecasting models.
  • Oversee and support subordinates in buying, shipping, and receiving, and prepare and file detailed records on procurement activity, quantity, and vendors.
  • Design and maintain department and inventory budgets, and maintain and report on materials and sourcing related Key Performance Indicators, with continuous improvement activities as a result.
  • Manage excess and obsolete materials, and participate in shared services team supporting other sites and M&A activity as needed.
  • Establish best practices and process and implement across supported sites, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, or relevant field.
  • APICS certification desired.
  • 5+ years' experience in a purchasing role.
  • Proven managerial experience.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mind with exceptional problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. This position will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
