Position Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in determining the most profitable and efficient transportation methods for our clients involved in the Cold Share Consolidation initiative.

This position involves negotiating rates and efficiently scheduling and routing delivery vehicles.

  • Independently oversee the profitability and service quality of assigned routes through daily planning and decision-making.
  • Accountable for generating revenue between 400k to 1 million monthly.
  • Skillfully select transportation methods for both single and multi-stop temperature-controlled shipments.
  • Plan, organize, and manage transportation activities with minimal management oversight.
  • Respond to customer requests for proposals and orders.
  • Maintain professional interactions with customers and carriers on a daily basis.
  • Receive and confirm transportation orders.
  • Organize transportation under optimal conditions, adhering to quality and timekeeping standards.
  • Identify and communicate optimal transport solutions to clients.
  • Build and maintain sustainable business relationships with clients.
  • Negotiate spot rates with external carriers to determine effective and profitable transportation options.
  • Responsible for tracking and tracing shipments with contracted carriers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse schedulers to ensure timely dispatch.
  • Comply with domestic and international traffic laws regarding the transportation of goods.
  • Direct carriers for the loading and unloading of shipments.
  • Effectively communicate load details to external carriers.

Qualifications We Seek:

Education

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 1 year of experience in related fields.

Experience

  • Proficiency in PC, leadership, and planning skills is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AS400, SAP, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Experience with warehouse documentation is beneficial.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while consistently meeting tight deadlines.
  • Capability to coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers.
Additional Skills Required:

  • Strong arithmetic, reading, and typing abilities.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to see, speak, and hear effectively.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • May require physical effort associated with computer usage and occasional standing, walking, or lifting to perform daily tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as company policies.
  • A proactive individual who can work independently while coordinating with others.
  • Adherence to safety protocols at all times.
  • Ability to manage stress and meet productivity standards.
