GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Vice President of Logistics is responsible for overseeing the Logistics Operations and is a key member of the Logistics and Distribution leadership team. This pivotal role focuses on managing and optimizing all warehouse activities, handling a diverse array of products for EssilorLuxottica's North American Retail, Wholesale, E-Commerce, and other divisions. The SVP supervises a complex, high-volume distribution network with multiple centers, catering to 50,000 customers daily and shipping over 150,000 packages weekly across various channels. This senior leadership role demands a combination of operational and strategic acumen to ensure smooth operations, adherence to safety regulations, and a strong emphasis on workplace safety.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Formulate and execute strategies to enhance warehouse operations, improve efficiency, and minimize costs while aligning with company goals and customer expectations.
  • Drive performance and create sustainable value through technical expertise, strategic insight, and effective communication.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement to boost efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead a team of salaried staff, ensuring service levels align with brand, channel, and business unit requirements.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of equipment and uphold high housekeeping standards in accordance with EssilorLuxottica's 7S procedures.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to meet productivity and budget objectives while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture, promote open communication, and enhance employee engagement and retention, ensuring diversity and inclusion within the leadership team.
  • Oversee employee health and safety, maintaining a clean and secure work environment. Build and sustain key relationships with internal and external business partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, Automation, and Continuous Improvement departments to define and implement systems and processes.
  • Set and communicate goals and KPIs for each team.
  • Manage inventory control and stock management.
  • Develop and oversee annual operating budgets, taking full responsibility for the distribution P&L.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering (preferred), Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in distribution operations management within multinational, complex organizations focused on service and customer experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems. Proficient in total distribution process management, inventory control, process audits, and financial oversight.
  • Strong organizational, motivational, and analytical capabilities. Resilience under pressure with swift decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent staff relations and managerial abilities with a proven history of leading high-performing teams. Capacity to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Able to thrive in a multicultural environment and matrixed organization. Experience in union management or prevention is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to drive EBITDA growth in a dynamic, complex setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MBA preferred.
  • Prior management experience in a reverse logistics context.
  • Expertise in logistics and after-sales services. Strategic experience within operations in rapidly growing enterprises.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt.
