DESC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with complex needs achieve their highest potential for health and well-being. Our comprehensive services, treatment, and housing model is designed to help people secure and maintain safe and affordable housing.

We are seeking an experienced Housing Support Specialist to manage day-to-day operations at our Permanent Supportive Housing Projects. In this role, you will work closely with residents, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to provide support and assistance as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Interact with residents in common areas and assist with daily needs
  • Coordinate services with clinical staff and outside service providers
  • Engage residents through creative strategies that build trust and confidence
  • Manage building operations in the absence of other project and clinical staff
  • Operate lobby office functions, including checking visitors in and out
  • Maintain safety and security by monitoring access areas and enforcing project rules

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of homelessness and its effects on adults
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse staff and clients
  • Subscription to principles of cooperation and respect for clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA degree in social or behavioral science
  • Experience in residential property management or a related field
  • Knowledge of mental illness and substance use challenges

Salary: $42,000 - $52,000 per year
