Nurse Development Specialist

We are seeking a Nurse Resident to join our team at Windham Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for newly licensed nurses to transition into clinical practice with support, resources, and mentorship.
Job OverviewWindham Hospital is proud to offer a Nurse Residency program to help new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program. Our program provides hands-on training and processing clinical experiences in various specialty areas, including Med / Surg / Telemetry, Emergency, and Operating Room.
The positions offered vary based on the needs of the hospital, but all participants will receive focused clinical education, meet in a classroom format to share experiences and receive additional education and training, and have the opportunity to develop critical thinking and inter-professional team building skills.
Responsibilities- To participate in a 12-month Nurse Residency program
- To work in a specialty area, such as Med / Surg / Telemetry, Emergency, or Operating Room
- To receive focused clinical education and meet regularly with other residents and mentors
Eligible candidates must be newly licensed RNs with less than one year of experience, hold an active State of CT RN license, and be able to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications. Graduates of a school of nursing are welcome to apply, and soon-to-be graduates can also apply prior to graduation.
