Manufacturing Manager 3

We are seeking a highly skilled First Line Manager to lead and execute key missions in the Actinide Material Processing and Power Division (AMPP) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). As a First Line Manager, you will provide management and leadership to teams of engineers, scientists, and technicians, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of work in a nuclear facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, organizing, and defining strategic objectives
- Establishing scope, schedule, and budget through work package development, resource and performance management
- Delivering quality products and/or services; enforcing adherence to quality standards
- Ensuring administrative and operating procedures are current, understood, and adhered to
- Working with facility operations staff to execute work safely, securely, with quality, and in compliance with nuclear facility requirements
- Serving as the safety responsible line manager over people, equipment, and processes
- Ongoing communications with line management reporting on work status, deliverables, and commitments
Requirements:
- Management experience in managing people and/or projects, including planning, organizing, and resource management
- Financial stewardship experience, including identification of resource requirements and development of schedules
- Leadership experience, including supervising, negotiating, conducting conflict resolution, mentoring, and conducting personnel development
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including internal and/or external interactions, seminars, briefings, presentations, and publications
- Experience performing work in a manufacturing environment and executing work in compliance with safety and facility requirements
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
Clearance: This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
