Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $14.50 - $17.50 per hour, depending on relevant years and months of experience.

Job Description
This Front Desk Representative role is responsible for providing services to patients and assisting clinical staff by greeting, checking-in patients, verifying patient information, collecting co-payments and fees, scheduling appointments, and routing calls and messages to the appropriate medical staff member.

The essential functions of this role include:
  • Verifying cash in the cash box at the beginning of the shift and reconciling cash count at the end of the day.
  • Preparing and submitting drawer count, reconciliation form, and balancing reports to the Accounting Department.
  • Greeting and checking in patients in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Verifying patient information, completing Advance Directive, Medicare questionnaires, financial policy, and making necessary changes in the practice management system.
  • Verifying patient identity by requesting government-issued photo ID or two forms of non-photo identification and scanning into the practice management system.
  • Answering questions regarding patient account status and referring patients to the appropriate source when necessary.
  • Determining correct co-payment amounts and collecting them before services are rendered.
  • Collecting fees according to current policy and payor agreement by contract, fee-for-service, and private insurance or self-pay.
  • Providing patients with information regarding cost of procedures.
  • Checking patients out and scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and messages in a timely and professional manner and routing them to the appropriate medical staff/provider.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A high school diploma or equivalency.
  • One year of experience as a cashier/receptionist in a medical facility or public contact position.
  • Bilingual skills may be preferred and required based on patient needs.
