About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Economist to join our team in the Fiscal Affairs Department, Fiscal Policy & Surveillance Division. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the division's research program on topics in fiscal policy, public economics, and the fiscal/monetary/financial/structural nexus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct analytical work on fiscal policy issues and contribute to the division's research program.
  • Work closely with senior staff, including the Division Chief and Deputy Director, to develop and implement research projects.
  • Contribute to the review of fiscal aspects of Fund documents on G-7 countries, the euro area, and key emerging economies.
  • Participate in outreach activities, such as the Fiscal Monitor.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An excellent knowledge of macroeconomic theory and econometric techniques.
  • Familiarity with key macroeconomic and fiscal policy challenges in developed and developing economies.
  • Strong drafting and presentation skills.
  • A strong interest and skills in policy-oriented research.
  • A proven capacity to independently carry out research projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to prioritize work.
