Job Description:

As a Senior Manager Government Affairs at 3M, you will play a critical role in representing the company's positions before state and local governments, trade associations, and other audiences to advance 3M's goals of advocating for policies and fostering political relationships that will enable business success.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Represent 3M before state and local governments in the assigned region.
  • Participate in and represent 3M's positions on trade associations such as state Chambers of Commerce, Manufacturing Associations, and other relevant bodies.
  • Draft testimony, responses, comments, and other research to advance 3M's state and local government affairs agenda.
  • Monitor and report on legislative activity in the assigned region and identify issues of relevance to 3M's state and local agenda.
  • Work cooperatively with internal stakeholders to develop policy positions, develop strategy, and work to advance 3M's agenda at the state and local level.
  • Participate in national organizations of Legislators, Governors, Attorneys General, and others to develop and strengthen 3M's relationships and advance 3M's legislative agenda.
  • Manage consultants and related administrative matters in the assigned region.

Your Skills and Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Eight years of combined experience working as a legislative aide at the state level, state employee in a state government department or agency, contract lobbyist, corporate lobbyist, and/or association lobbyist in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently.

Work Environment:

  • Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on-site, or hybrid).
  • Travel: May include up to 20% domestic.
  • Relocation Assistance: Not authorized.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected compensation range for this position is $207,348 - $253,425, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
