Job Summary

Miller Environmental Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hazardous Materials Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental response and remediation team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient cleaning and decontamination of regulated materials from various industrial sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site assessments to identify and remove hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, and radioactive substances.
  • Operate specialized equipment, such as earth-moving equipment and trucks, to transport and dispose of hazardous materials.
  • Develop and implement containment strategies to prevent the spread of hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide training and education to colleagues on safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Valid unrestricted license (CDL-A or B a plus)
  • Clean driver's license with a clean driving record to meet company standards
  • Basic math, mechanical, teamwork, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed, and travel to remote sites
  • Successful completion of safety, mechanical, hazmat, equipment, and/or equivalent training
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the field or similar position
  • Prior construction experience helpful, but not required
