Surgical Technician

The Surgical Technician - PRN will assist with nursing care and surgical services under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and physician/surgeon within the surgical department.

Key qualifications include:

  • Completion of a Surgical Technology Program
  • One year of surgical technology experience
  • Familiarity with and adherence to infection control policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will:

  • Assist the surgeon/physician with endoscopic procedures, including proper patient positioning, gloving, cleaning/disinfecting of endoscopes, and use of personal protective equipment
  • Stock LDR/Triage Rooms
  • Perform daily/Q shift checks
  • Obtain vital signs Q shift & PRN

This role requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs.

Working with hands in water and exposure to electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment are also part of this role.
