Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Shelby County team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with staff and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and enter data into computer systems and maintain accurate records
  • Compose and prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries from staff and the public
  • Collect and process fees and other monetary charges
  • Maintain cash drawers and balance revenues
  • Review and process records, reports, and other documents for accuracy and compliance
  • Mail or issue authorized documents and materials
  • File and maintain control records
  • Prepare and compile standard reports
  • Operate office equipment and perform other related duties as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in clerical or administrative work preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized databases
Working Conditions

This position is subject to a background check and may require working in a jail-secured environment. The successful candidate must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
