Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Operations Engineer to join our team at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). As a Market Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and reliability of the wholesale electricity market in Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze system conditions and market performance to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues related to the wholesale market construct within the ERCOT Protocols.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the wholesale market and ERCOT grid operations to support Market Participant business needs.
  • Acquire skills and knowledge to anticipate and resolve issues within the ERCOT wholesale market and grid operations using power engineering knowledge.
  • Generate and maintain market reports per requests and protocols.
  • Assist the management team and senior experts in providing technical assistance to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), industry, and stakeholder groups.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements for Engineer Level 2.
  • Minimum 3 years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements for Engineer Level 3.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient technical skills in SQL and/or SAS.
  • Experience with data analysis using Python.
Work Location

Taylor, TX. Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on business needs as determined by management.

Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
