Job Description

Millstone Weber LLC is seeking an experienced Assistant Paving Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Paving Operations Manager in coordinating paving resources to meet project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring the safety of crew members and participate in safety talks.
  • Assist in enforcing company direction, policy, and procedures.
  • Develop and manage concrete paving plans and schedules for all projects.
  • Procure tools for paving crews as needed.
  • Coordinate the ordering and delivery of construction materials.
  • Review and assist with purchase orders for permanent paving materials.
  • Assist with pre-activity meetings for concrete paving operations.
  • Monitor and manage production costs.
  • Review goals and evaluate actual performance with field personnel.
  • Assist crews in plan and specification review and interpretation.
  • Review timecards of paving foremen and superintendents.
  • Review and approve invoices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of heavy construction experience.
  • Experience with heavy highway, airport, and DOD paving preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve and think clearly in intense situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Project Scheduling.

Working Conditions:

Outside environment, exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes. Site specific exposure to hazardous materials requiring proper use of personal protective equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle/feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
