About the Role
RiseBoro Community Partnership is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Education/Recreation Instructor to join our team. As an integral part of our community programs, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging educational experiences for our participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities;
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters teamwork and social interaction;
- Communicate effectively with our Director to ensure seamless program execution;
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including attendance reports and program evaluations;
- Ensure a well-organized workspace by managing supplies, materials, and equipment;
- Provide individualized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of participants with varying abilities;
- Plan and execute art displays and exhibitions to showcase participant work.
Requirements
- Minimum one-year teaching experience, with a preference for working with older adult communities;
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Punctuality, reliability, and organizational skills to manage a successful class;
- Interest and ability to work with senior citizens and volunteers;
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking communication skills;
- Commitment to our organization's mission, vision, and values;
- Understanding of institutional and structural racism and bias, and their impact on underserved communities;
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma is required, with an associate's degree preferred.
