Job Opportunity: Recreational Specialist

At Institute for Community Living, we are committed to providing life-saving care to individuals in need. We are seeking a part-time Recreational Specialist to join our team, working closely with residents to develop and participate in programs that promote physical, mental, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational programs, including art, music, dance, sports, games, crafts, and exercise, to promote stress relief and self-confidence.
  • Monitor and oversee the exercise area and use of equipment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for residents.
  • Attend scheduled supervision, training, and staff development meetings to stay updated on best practices and agency policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to resident inquiries and concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
  • Collaborate with residents and staff to create a positive and inclusive community, promoting social integration and reducing isolation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a human service field, such as recreation, recreation therapy, or creative arts therapy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in recreation and/or therapeutic recreation programming or relevant human services experience.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid, obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
