Job Title: Education/Recreation Instructor

RiseBoro Community Partnership is seeking a qualified Education/Recreation Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs for seniors, promoting social interaction, and fostering a sense of community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver educational and recreational programs for seniors, incorporating a range of activities and topics.
  • Establish a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging participants to engage and interact with one another.
  • Communicate regularly with the Director to discuss program topics and participant feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, attendance, and feedback.
  • Ensure a well-organized workspace, managing supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Provide individualized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of participants with varying abilities.
  • Plan and present art displays and exhibitions showcasing participant work.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience, with a preference for experience working with older adults.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and organizational skills to run an effective program.
  • Interest and ability to work with senior citizens and volunteers.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking communication skills are necessary.
  • Commitment to RiseBoro's mission, vision, and values.
  • Understanding of institutional and structural racism and bias, and their impact on underserved communities.
  • Ability to support communities experiencing systemic oppression and bias.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
