Position Overview

Salary Range: $39,000 - $78,000

Employment Type: Fee For Service (FSS) 1099 Contractor with a minimum of (30) billable hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.

Role Summary:

The Addiction Counselor will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver essential care to clients enrolled in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Outpatient Programs (OP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). This role is pivotal in guiding clients towards developing and sustaining healthy lifestyles and effective recovery management strategies. A comprehensive understanding of the treatment philosophy, admission protocols, discharge criteria, and aftercare services is critical. In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions is required. The counselor will ensure that all clinical and administrative services comply with governmental and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, executing rehabilitation and support tasks while assisting in treatment delivery.
  • Maintain an assigned caseload in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct thorough psycho-social histories and comprehensive assessments for incoming clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop a Comprehensive Treatment Plan tailored to individual needs.
  • Regularly update and review Treatment Plans in compliance with applicable standards and agency policies.
  • Provide individual counseling and emergency interventions as necessary.
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions.
  • Document client progress and interventions meticulously in their records.
  • Develop aftercare plans for clients completing the program or transitioning for other reasons.
  • Prepare discharge summaries for assigned clients within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Coordinate care involving health, housing, and community services based on the Treatment Plan and individual requirements.
  • Ensure all client documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes, is completed in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain updated client files in line with established policies.
  • Assist clients in crisis by identifying resources and coping strategies to help them navigate challenges.
  • Facilitate referrals to community agencies and resources when appropriate.
  • Conduct timely reviews of treatment plans as mandated by state and agency guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related behavioral field.
  • Must hold credentials as an ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, or be a licensed therapist in the state of Maryland.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in substance use disorder treatment is preferred.
