Job Overview

Sight & Sound Productions is seeking a highly skilled Event Production Manager to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of high-profile corporate events from design to event day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and coordinate audio-visual production for corporate events, including meetings with clients to determine needs and budget, designing and building quotes, coordinating vendors and venues, and overseeing loading of trucks and on-site management.
  • Create floor plans, design stage sets, and coordinate with venues for internal and external planning.
  • Conduct pre- and post-conference meetings with clients and relevant departments to confirm information.
  • Guide pre-planning and client deadlines for seamless execution of event details.
  • Work closely with technical, warehouse, marketing, sales, and project management teams.
  • In collaboration with the Production Manager, ensure adequate staff is scheduled for production events.
  • Participate in design reviews with internal staff, clients, and consultants.
  • Oversee and assist with load-on and load-out for events.
  • Act as liaison onsite for clients and technician teams to maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Attend weekly meetings to provide status reports on upcoming and previous events as required.
  • Prepare and manage job costing to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of audio-visual project management experience in the event/hospitality industry.
  • Creative and passionate about events.
  • Knowledge of audio-visual production, specific knowledge of equipment, and overall knowledge of the event industry.
  • Proficient in creating budgets and understanding of profit and loss statements.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous management experience and innate leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
  • Able to work in a high-energy, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a team player.
  • Able to work weekends and evenings.
  • Flexibility with software programs and ability to quickly learn new computer programs.
  • Proficiency in general office equipment.
  • Hospitality degree or experience is desirable.
