Job Description

ReCon Management Services is seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Engineer III to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing the engineering and design efforts for capital projects from feasibility study to construction.

Duties:

  • Scope definition of projects, including discipline engineering requirements and estimating project man hours and requirements.
  • Concisely describing project requirements through engineer's sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Presenting work to design personnel in an organized form suitable for design by available personnel.
  • Coordinating and organizing work with other disciplines, maintaining a good working relationship.
  • Checking drawing packages for completeness, code compliance, and accuracy, generating discipline construction scopes of work as required.
  • Supervising overall engineering package quality and production, providing adequate instructions for design staff to perform tasks with quality work.
  • Performing calculations required for discipline, checking calculations of other engineers for completeness, code compliance, and accuracy.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field from an accredited university, with at least six years of experience in petrochemical, chemical, offshore, pipeline, or utility industries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license, professional engineer intern status with professional registration preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the management of a portfolio of projects for the site, providing key input into the 5-year CAPEX plan.
  • Assisting in all phases of project development, from FEL to project completion, with an emphasis on safety and quality.
  • Supporting all phases of projects, including coordination of work, safety, process design, front-end engineering and design, detailed design, procurement, cost control, schedules, quality, construction planning, execution planning, and commissioning.
  • Liaising with Engineering and Construction on larger projects.
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of projects, including compliance with project scope, specifications, sound engineering judgment, and Cheniere basic engineering design documents.
  • Leading a multi-discipline team of engineers, designers, and contractors.
  • Developing Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents and ensuring project deliverables are produced in accordance with agreed safety, cost, technical, and schedule parameters.
  • Reporting project status monthly, including updated cost reports, project forecast, variance reports, procurement status, schedule, accomplishments, issues, and path forward.
  • Coordinating project activities with technical service engineering, maintenance, operations, production engineering, and outage planning.
  • Participating in design engineering reviews, management of change (MOC) process, constructability review, operability review, safety review, HAZOP, and PSSR.
  • Delivering projects that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient LNG operations and are executed on time and on budget.
  • Complying with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, following the highest ethical standards.
  • Participating in regulatory agency audits.
  • Reinforcing safety and environmental awareness through frequent job observations and interfacing with plant personnel.
