Position Overview:

Allina Health is dedicated to providing comprehensive Mental Health and Addiction Services, encompassing a full spectrum of care that includes integrated psychiatry, specialized outpatient clinics, addiction services, partial hospitalization, day treatment, emergency, and inpatient care.

Located in a vibrant community, this role involves supporting adult outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. The partial hospitalization program enables psychiatrists to engage closely with patients and their families, meeting 2-3 times weekly for approximately three weeks, with the option for family involvement. The patient caseload ranges from 8 to 24, depending on program size and provider full-time equivalent (FTE) with a 1.0 FTE for 24 chairs in adult PHP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients to determine suitability for various levels of care and specific programs.
  • Deliver direct clinical psychiatric care, including brief assessments and interventions.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team, patients, and families to formulate behaviorally-focused, outcomes-oriented treatment plans addressing mental health, functional impairments, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Work alongside program RNs to address comorbid medical issues within the patient population.
  • Actively engage in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
  • Provide care in various settings, including ambulatory clinics, inpatient, or outpatient hospital environments.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Lead staff education initiatives regarding psychiatric issues.

Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent foreign training required.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified with ABMS or AOA required.
  • Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in Minnesota (or ability to obtain).
  • Capability to secure and maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Meet criteria for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable.

Physical Requirements:
Light Work: Occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs and frequently lifting up to 10 lbs.
