We are seeking a highly skilled Property Claims Adjuster to join our team at Travelers. As a Property Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling first-party property claims, including investigating, evaluating, and negotiating to ensure optimal claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities:- Handle first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity
- Conduct field inspections of losses, including accurate scope of damages, photographs, and written estimates
- Investigate and evaluate all relevant facts to determine coverage, damages, and liability of first-party property damage claims
- Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves
- Negotiate with multiple constituents, including contractors or insured's representatives, and convey claim settlements within authority limits
- Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other complex correspondence
- Properly assess the extent of damages and manage damages through proper usage of cost evaluation tools
- Meet all quality standards and expectations in accordance with the Knowledge Guides
- Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases
- Handle files in compliance with state regulations, where applicable
- Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent, and all other internal and external customers/business partners
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- General knowledge of estimating system Xactimate preferred
- Two or more years of previous outside property claim handling experience preferred
- Interpersonal and customer service skills – Advanced
- Organizational and time management skills – Advanced

- Judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills – Intermediate

- Resolve claims within settlement authority – Intermediate
