Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our retail branch office in Herndon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, expanding existing ones, and driving business growth through effective sales techniques.

You will work closely with branch staff to achieve referral goals, production targets, and support a positive team atmosphere. Your primary objective will be to generate deposit, loan, and investment fee income growth to meet branch profit plans and participate in business events and networking opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of production goals for deposits, loans, fee income, and other assigned objectives.
  • Coordinate with branch staff and other business lines to achieve growth objectives, utilizing standard sales techniques.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of all products sold in the retail branch office and familiarity with products sold by other business lines.
  • Assist clients promptly and efficiently, ensuring service quality, and following established procedures.
  • Resolve escalated client concerns by responding responsibly and provide support to staff in dealing with difficult situations.
  • Be responsible for daily operations of the retail branch office.
  • Supervise and coach assigned branch staff to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities to maximize performance potential.
  • Follow established audit, security, and compliance guidelines to protect staff, company assets, and clients from harm or loss.
  • Represent Sandy Spring Bank to the client and community in a professional, courteous manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years retail sales banking experience, including at least 2 years of successful management/supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products and related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of standard audit and security procedures.
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach, and motivate others.
  • Intermediate computer skills using standard windows-based software, including Metavante Banking System.
  • Ability to make productive business development calls.
  • Possess English language skills to effectively and professionally express ideas, both in written and oral forms.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

The work environment is a normal office setting with minimal discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements. There is little to no potential exposure to hazardous conditions. Travel to remote company and/or client locations may be required.

Compensation Information

At Sandy Spring Bank, compensation is one part of our total rewards package. Compensation within the range will depend on your skills, qualifications, education, experience, and location. Full-time and part-time positions may be eligible to participate in department or company-wide incentive plans.

Salary Range: USD $65,000.00 - USD $102,500.00 per year.
