Job Description

As a Highway Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering multifaceted transportation safety programs. Your leadership skills and expertise will be essential in providing guidance and direction to technical and program staff on regulatory, policy, and procedural matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and direct program staff to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Assess program strengths and weaknesses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide authoritative technical advice and assistance to FMCSA Headquarters, Service Center, and Division management and program staff.
  • Develop and implement safety programs to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries on the nation's highways.
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for consideration.
  • Must meet specialized experience to qualify.
  • Must have a strong understanding of highway safety programs and regulations.
