About the Role

Radiant Dev is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Database Services team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platforms for our ground systems platform/application teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Administration: Plan, coordinate, and administer matters related to PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL databases, including definition, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.
  • Cloud Migration: Demonstrate experience working with data center migration to multiple cloud providers.
  • Security and Compliance: Establish and maintain security integrity controls, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Database Design and Implementation: Translate logical to physical design, develop comprehensive DB architectures, implementation and upgrade plans, and assist in defining database standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Production Database Support: Create and manage large-scale, highly available production database environments, perform data loading, security, capacity planning, and backup and recovery.
  • SQL Performance Optimization: Solve SQL performance-related issues and optimize poorly performing queries and stored procedures.
  • Scripting and Automation: Strong scripting skills in Shell, Ruby, Perl, Bash, Puppet, Salt, and Python.
  • On-Call Support: Responsible for 24x7 production operations, including incident break/fix, change, service requests, and management, as well as on-call pager rotation.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship: Must be a US citizen with an active secret-level security clearance or able to obtain within expected timeframes.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field, or 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience with database administration in a production environment, 3+ years of development experience with data management systems, and 2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, Google, or relevant cloud providers.
  • DevOps Experience: Experience working in a DevOps model and has agile project management experience.
Preferred Requirements
  • Cloud Experience: Migration of large databases from one platform to another, experience with GIS spatial models, CI/CD pipeline in Jenkins, and pipeline controls.
  • Technical Skills: Terraform, SCIaC, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, Rancher, Vault, Artifactory, GitHub, GitLab, Python, SQLAlchemy, Flask, SNS, SQS, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, IAM, S3, Elasticsearch, Beats, Elastic Agent, Fleet, Kibana, Grafana, and PgAdmin4.
Compensation

The salary for this role is $150-$165K base salary + 10% bonus, with a great benefits plan, including unlimited PTO, pet insurance, 401K, and more.
