Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Database Administrator to join our team at Maxar Technologies. As a key member of our Database Services team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platforms for our ground systems platform/application teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and design database systems for high availability and scalability
  • Develop and maintain database infrastructure, including database servers, storage, and networking
  • Implement and manage database security, compliance, and auditing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on cloud-based systems
  • 3+ years of experience in development, with a focus on data management systems
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, Google, or other cloud providers
  • Experience working in a DevOps model and agile project management
  • Strong scripting skills, including Shell, Ruby, Perl, Bash, Puppet, Salt, and Python
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with migration of large databases from one platform to another
  • GIS spatial models experience from a DB perspective
  • CI/CD pipeline experience in Jenkins and pipeline controls
  • Terraform and SCIaC experience
  • Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and Rancher experience
