About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to join our team at Maxar Technologies. As a key member of our Database Services team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database systems that support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database architectures that meet business requirements and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop and maintain database systems, including database administration, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business needs and are aligned with company goals.
  • Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions to business challenges.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in database administration and design.
  • 3+ years of experience with data management systems and database development.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-based database systems, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DevOps and agile project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database systems, including Terraform and SCIaC.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations.
