The Manufacturing Team Leader plays a crucial role in the production department, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Position Title: Manufacturing Team Leader

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Department: Production

Reports To: Plant Manager

Primary Objective:
Oversee various functions within the production department, including receiving, processing, packaging, shipping, inventory management, and sanitation.

Supervisory Duties:

The Manufacturing Team Leader will supervise roles such as Production Workers, Forklift Operators, Sorters, Packers, Food Processing Equipment Operators, Bagging Machine Operators, and Maintenance Technicians.

Essential Duties:
  1. Utilize sound business practices to execute responsibilities effectively.
  2. Demonstrate leadership by establishing and maintaining high-quality standards.
  3. Collaborate closely with Quality Control and Human Resources.
  4. Coordinate staffing to meet production needs and schedules.
  5. Ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  6. Manage daily operations within the production department, ensuring proper planning and execution.
  7. Ensure machinery and equipment are well-maintained for optimal production.
  8. Act as the food safety leader, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  9. Oversee the inspection of incoming raw materials and consumables.
  10. Manage inventory processes to ensure accuracy.
  11. Maintain accurate records as required.
  12. Promote a safe working environment.
  13. Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy.
  14. Lead team meetings and training sessions as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  2. Two years of relevant experience, including supervision of at least five staff members.
  3. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  4. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
