PRIMARY FUNCTION

Oversees, directs, and coordinates the efforts of fabrication craft personnel. Communicates company policies to staff and enforces safety protocols and regulations. Reviews blueprint schematics to establish work methods. Assesses labor requirements and equipment needs based on project timelines and workload. Organizes and modifies work sequences to align with production goals.

TYPICAL DUTIES
  • Actively promote the Company's dedication to safety and its "Core Values".

  • Collaborate effectively with craft personnel, management, and clients.
  • Coordinate employee tasks and ensure all craftsmen maintain an acceptable productivity level relative to their classification and experience.
  • Ensure the achievement of all production timelines.
  • Maintain accountability for safety standards.
  • Guarantee that high-quality work is consistently delivered.
  • Complete daily timecards and assist in resolving any discrepancies.
  • Conduct daily toolbox safety meetings, keep minutes, and ensure required signatures are collected.
  • Manage permits and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
  • Prepare disciplinary reports and employee recognition as necessary.
  • Conduct Craft Employee Evaluations.
  • Address employee concerns and follow up with management as required.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and take necessary corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Perform all other job-related responsibilities as assigned by management.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 1-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a fitter welder or machine operator/burn operator in the steel fabrication sector.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with accessing Safety, Health, and Environmental information.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting all fabrication machinery.
  • Expertise in interpreting various blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand technical documentation, including codes (ASME, API).
  • Strong leadership skills to manage multiple craft workers.
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with scheduling and tracking materials and completed parts using various software tools.
  • Ability to accurately read measuring tools.
  • Willingness to work frequent overtime.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able and willing to work at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, and aerial work platforms.
  • Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated materials, equipment, or tools.
  • Job may involve frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and occasional climbing onto equipment.
  • Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods, typically up to 8 hours daily.
  • This position is considered safety-sensitive.
  • Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program.
In California, the typical hiring range for this position is outlined below. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other influencing factors. Therefore, actual salaries may vary within or outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $34.00 to $36.00 per hour
