Position Summary
The Production Supervisor serves as a key leader on the plant floor, tasked with developing and guiding high-performing production teams dedicated to achieving Total Plant Operational Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the training, development, and coaching of Operations Technicians, identifying skill gaps and training needs to ensure optimal team performance.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of production activities to maximize team efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels pertaining to UHT, ESL, and low acid aseptic fluid milk bottling operations.
- Maintain adherence to customer co-packing specifications.
- Develop, implement, and sustain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to:
- Team Member Safety
- Plant Food Safety and Product Quality
- Team Member Satisfaction and Development
- Daily Team Meetings and Direction Setting
- Standardized Work and Training
- Operational Efficiency Metrics
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
- Sanitation Schedules
- Equipment Maintenance Compliance
- Cost Control and Budget Management
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across all departments.
- Act as a role model, demonstrating integrity and a commitment to excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred, with a possible substitution of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a fluid milk, ESL, or low acid aseptic bottling environment.
- Familiarity with GFSI standards and Cal/OSHA regulations is essential.
- Proficient in ERP, MES, WMS, QMS, and CMMS systems.
- Proven track record of building and leading effective teams with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 65 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking are required.
- Some bending, stooping, and climbing may be necessary.
Work Environment
- The role is primarily office-based, with some extended working hours and occasional travel.
