Position Summary:


The Senior Engineering Technician will collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers to support technical operations within a high-output medical device contract manufacturing environment.

This role entails direct responsibility for assembling prototypes, executing testing protocols, documenting outcomes, assessing new manufacturing process instructions, and providing constructive feedback to both engineering and manufacturing teams.

Additionally, this position will assist in the development and maintenance of tooling and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Act as the primary contact for technical support escalation for operations

Provide feedback on assembly processes to the engineering team

Oversee the monitoring, inspection, setup, calibration, and maintenance of manufacturing process equipment

Research and propose solutions to manufacturing or engineering challenges

Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including but not limited to machining, injection molding, laser processing, stamping, or packaging

Assist engineers in the creation, modification, and testing of products and processes

Inspect products and processes for defects and identify opportunities for improvement

Conduct tests and gather data to support validation activities

Utilize computer-aided design and drafting software effectively

Develop production drawings for manufacturing purposes

Read and adhere to work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists

Timely entry of production information into the ERP system


Generate ECO/DCO and process documentation changes related to manufacturing modifications, such as work instruction updates, print changes, and documentation revisions.

Perform equipment setups as necessary

Guide and mentor Engineering Technicians I and II, as well as Operators

Support and comply with the company’s Quality System, ISO standards, and medical device regulations

Read, comprehend, and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures

Collaboration with Other Business Segments:
sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance

Understand customer requirements and the core business markets we serve

Ensure that business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning effectively

Participate in mandatory company meetings

Maintain an organized work environment (5S)

Engage in the Operational Excellence Program

Complete all other assigned duties as required

Qualifications:
Job Requirements

5 years of experience as an Engineering Technician

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices & Quality Systems Regulations

Experience in medical products

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

Proficient in CAD software platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro-E

Ability to cross-train in other production areas as needed

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Associate Degree in Engineering

5 years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment
