Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to join our team at Houston Engineering, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications and collaborate with Civil Engineers to ensure plan preparation, acceptance testing, design changes, evaluation of field conditions, and reports are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate a company vehicle to construction civil engineering job sites and document civil engineering construction activities into a daily log, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with construction contractors and project managers regarding construction activities, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Observe construction site operations to determine conformance with design plan and material specifications, identifying and addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist Engineers and Senior Designers with project design, construction plan development, and data analysis using engineering-related software such as Topo Dot – Micro Station, AutoCAD Civil3D, and ArcGIS.
  • Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station, collecting topographic survey data with precision and accuracy.
  • Assist Civil Engineers in setting construction stakes for construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in engineering-related software and electronic survey instruments.
