Job Summary

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our trucking services. The position is responsible for coordinating and dispatching drivers, managing real-time tracking of vehicles, and ensuring that deliveries are executed in a timely and safe manner. The Truck Dispatcher supports our drivers, resolves logistical issues, and upholds the company's commitment to safety, reliability, and efficiency in every transport operation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule truck drivers for deliveries and pickups.
  • Monitor truck locations using GPS tracking systems to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including driver logs, service hours, and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Coordinate with drivers to resolve issues or delays on the road, such as mechanical problems or route adjustments.
  • Communicate with customers to provide delivery updates and resolve inquiries.
  • Track and maintain driver service hours to ensure compliance with DOT standards.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, monitoring the on-call phone and emails after hours and on weekends for one week at a time, from Friday to Friday.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional DOT training or certification is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the trucking industry, preferably with dispatching experience.
  • Previous experience as a truck driver is a plus.
  • Experience in resolving common trucking issues and ensuring driver compliance with safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of tracking systems, GPS location management, and log-keeping.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
