About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician to join our team at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to children with serious illnesses, focusing on pain and symptom management, and improving quality of life.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in education and research activities, including teaching residents and fellows, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community-based hospices and palliative care providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of hospital-wide palliative care policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in pediatric palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Commitment to excellence, integrity, and respect for individuals with diverse backgrounds.
