Aviation Operations Manager Job Description

ABM Industries is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Operations Manager to oversee and optimize aviation-related operations within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of aviation operations, including ground handling, passenger services, cargo operations, and aircraft services, to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations, safety standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to a diverse team of aviation professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management, to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Resource Management: Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and facilities, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs while meeting operational requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency enhancements through data analysis, performance metrics, and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement contingency plans and emergency procedures to ensure the continuity of operations and the safety of personnel and assets in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  • Budget Management: Manage departmental budgets and financial performance, including forecasting, expense control, and revenue generation, to achieve profitability targets and business objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance programs and performance metrics to monitor service quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality aviation services.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication channels with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, problem-solving, and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation operations management, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, industry standards, and best practices; excellent leadership and team-building skills; exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
