Job Overview

Position: Fiber Optics Installation Specialist

Location: New Albany, OH

Contract Duration: Long Term

Key Responsibilities:

Cabling & Termination:

  • Proficient in basic copper termination techniques.
  • Responsible for the assembly and installation of racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware. Ensure proper grounding for all equipment and cabling as necessary.

Testing:

  • Conduct testing using OTDR, Fluke, and EFXO equipment.
  • Utilize OTDR for troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues across the network.

Splicing:

  • Execute mechanical splicing on various types of fiber cables.
  • Perform fusion splicing on all fiber cable types.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a positive attitude while maintaining professionalism and contributing to process improvements.
  • Promote the company culture and mission among all stakeholders.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting both MMF and SMF systems is essential.
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in fiber optics.
  • Preferred: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Corning/FOA).
  • Preferred: Experience in data center installations.
