Job Title: Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

At Tricon Residential, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable transactions, including processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process invoices, validate invoice coding and approvals, and match to purchase orders
  • Analyze, code, prioritize, and process invoicing for property tax, HOA's, insurance, property expenses, and normal general and administrative operating activity expenses
  • Knowledge of capitalization policy for proper coding
  • Annual reconciliation of vendor activity and assist with distribution of 1099s
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual vendor account reconciling
  • Assist with month-end closing, ensuring work orders are closed or matched to a purchase order, all invoices are processed within the month received
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Yardi accounting platform a major plus
  • Proficiency with Excel - Basic to intermediate formulaic abilities, knowledge of Pivot Tables, Look-up functions, and reporting
  • Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • 2 years of successful experience in accounts payable
  • Prior property management experience a plus
  • Customer service background
  • Demonstrate experience with general ledger account reconciliations, including month-end closing processes, and general knowledge of accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
  • Demonstrated attention to details
  • Ability to work independently, taking ownership of all work product and completing work within specified deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Solid math and financial acumen
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to multi-task and willingness to take on new challenges and gain new skills
