About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Configuration Specialist to join our team at SAIC. As a key member of our System Configuration Management (SCM) team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise infrastructure, including multiple Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) infrastructures and Windows-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Monitor and troubleshoot MECM-related infrastructures and services, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Database Administration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot SQL instances, utilizing T-SQL to create reporting on MECM status and performance.
  • Software Updates: Install, configure, and troubleshoot WSUS servers, ensuring timely and efficient software updates.
  • Hardware Management: Manage and maintain physical hardware and associated networking components, ensuring seamless integration with our enterprise infrastructure.
  • Group Policy Administration: Create and manage GPOs, as well as associated objects in Active Directory, ensuring secure and efficient access control.
  • Scripting and Automation: Create scripts using PowerShell to perform tasks related to MECM management and configuration, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  • Re-engineering and Patching: Re-engineer patch and software packaging for various MECM infrastructures and reporting solutions, ensuring adaptability to changing technologies and mitigating identified issues.
  • Cybersecurity Support: Provide rapid and non-duty hours support for cybersecurity incidents and high-priority initiatives, ensuring the security and integrity of our enterprise infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in MECM, WSUS, T-SQL, and system management of Windows-based OS, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Patch management experience, especially with Microsoft products; MECM/Entra hands-on experience; scripting language experience, specifically PowerShell; GPO administration and Active Directory experience; experience troubleshooting and managing Windows Operating Systems, WMI, and client agent administration; SQL experience.
  • Clearance: US Citizenship and Active Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cybersecurity Experience: Understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
  • Linux Experience: Experience with patching Linux environment.
  • PowerBI Skills: PowerBI skills.
