Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Medical Center has been recognized as one of the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report. We are currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide essential patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. As a CNA, your duties will encompass:

  • Assisting patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and maintaining basic hygiene.
  • Conducting fundamental patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, observing and reporting symptoms, assisting with mobility, and performing simple dressing changes.
  • Carrying out EKGs and bedside tests, including blood glucose monitoring and other specific assessments.

Please note that this position requires quarterly certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) post-hire. Ongoing competency must be maintained through internal resources, as external RQI certification is not acceptable for compliance with CommonSpirit Health.

Qualifications

We require the following:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or military medical training, or a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or active NA-R with proof of passing the Washington NA-C exam, or LPN certification from the Washington State Nursing Commission.
  • Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to lift, move, or assist patients using proper body mechanics, with the capacity to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs.
