Position Overview:


The Inpatient Nutrition Specialist is responsible for creating tailored dietary plans for patients based on their specific health requirements within a hospital environment.

This role involves conducting comprehensive nutrition evaluations and formulating individualized care strategies.

The Clinical Nutrition Consultant will facilitate both individual and group educational sessions, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and contribute valuable insights regarding the nutritional management of patients.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics

Valid Montana Nutritionist License

Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration

Completion of an ADA/CDR accredited internship

Desirable:
Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) or relevant experience in Diabetes Self-Management Education

Desirable: Minimum of 2 years in clinical dietetics

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and document nutrition screenings, assessments, and consultations.

Deliver nutrition education to patients and their families, including support for critical care and Medical Nutrition Therapy for hospitalized individuals.

May serve as the inpatient Diabetes Educator for newly diagnosed diabetes patients and act as a primary resource for diabetes management, including monitoring insulin protocols and dosage adjustments.

Design and lead community and group educational programs (Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diabetes Self-Management Education).

Engage in community health initiatives and events.

Act as the nutrition resource for Health Group clinics.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exhibit sound judgment, patience, and professionalism at all times.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Flexibility to work various shifts.

Demonstrate tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality.

Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office, EMR, internet tools, and standard office equipment.

Capable of analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks while meeting multiple deadlines.
